About

I am a senior engineer at Monster. I work with the search internationalization team in Mountain View, CA. For an overview of what my group does, check out Trovix.

Previously, I have been with the National Library of Medicine (post-doc & intern), Yahoo! Inc. (intern), and UCLA (grad school).

If you think I may be a long lost friend, you may want to look here.

Research

I am broadly interested in natural language understanding and its applications to information extraction from large text collections such as medical reports, web pages, wikipedia etc.

During my brief postdoc stint at the NLM, I worked on named-entity recognition from clinical reports. During a previous internship at the NLM, I worked on spell correction for biomedical text.

Towards my PhD, I explored deep syntactic approaches to medical concept extraction and 'normalization'.

I spent as summer interning at Yahoo! where I worked on related-keyword generation using data mining.
